    Arts charter school to present student costume designs online

    BETHLEHEM — Students of the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts Production Arts Department, will showcase their original designs from concept through construction in a virtual costume gallery event that will launch Friday.  A link to view the gallery will be posted on the school’s website, CharterArts.org, on Friday and will be available through the end of February, a press release said.     Biden seeks extension of student debt payment freeze through September

    On a call with reporters Tuesday, Brian Deese, the incoming director of the National Economic Council, spoke of the struggles of many households, particularly Black and Latino families, to pay basic expenses and said that student loan debt is often weighed against the costs of food and housing. “In this moment of economic hardship, we want to reduce the burden of these financial trade-offs,” Deese said.     Student charged in connection to Capitol riots appears in court

    CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A student at the University of Kentucky was in court Tuesday for her alleged involvement in the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Gracyn Courtright, 23, from West Virginia, faces federal charges for the Jan. 6 incident. The FBI says Courtright was seen on surveillance video taking a ‘members only’ sign near the Senate chamber. She was not seen entering the chamber. According to the FBI, investigators have call center agent monitoring software posts from Courtright’s now deleted Instagram and Twitter accounts that show her at the Capitol on Jan. 6.     Akron’s 22 Exchange building to convert from student housing

    Downtown Akron is getting a new round of apartments that are expected to come online next year, thanks to the redevelopment of a major student housing complex. The project is at the corner of South Main and Exchange streets in what’s known as 22 Exchange — a student housing project that went into foreclosure and was subsequently sold last year.     Following an article published by the KY Kernel, a University of Kentucky student could face possible arrest for her participation in the Capitol riots that recently took place in Washington D.C. Not long after an article titled “‘Infamy is just as good as fame’: UK student among crowd that mobbed Capitol building” was published to the Kernel’s website on Jan. 7, an arrest warrant for UK student, Gracyn Courtright, was filed in an affidavit for her involvement in the storming of the Capitol building that occurred on Jan. 6.
