    Busto Arsizio, Italy is more than 5,000 miles away from Milledgeville, Ga. but it’s where Federico Tartaro calls home. Tartaro is an International Student Exchange program participant.     Foreign exchange student victim of hit and run Coweta County

    Police say they don’t have any leads yet on who the driver of the car was. COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — A 16-year-old foreign exchange student is in critical condition after he was the victim of a hit and run in Coweta County.  Timothee Rey is currently studying at Northgate High School from France and other students rushed to his rescue when he was hit riding his bike Tuesday night.  Northgate High School Principal Ashley Wilkes said the students who came to Rey’s aide didn’t know it was another student at first, they just knew someone needed help.  “I would commend them for being calm and collected, and going to him,…

    Former foreign exchange student makes a home in Van Buren

    Once a foreign exchange student from Budapest, Gabor Buday has made Van Buren his home to work, experience America, and eventually become a citizen. In 2013, Buday applied for an exchange program but after missing a deadline to live in California, he found a host family in Arkansas that wanted to have him.  “I chose to come here,” Buday said. “I switched host families during the year because we were just too different, but I had a friend at Van Buren High School that offered for me to stay with them.” That was seven years ago, and Buday said that they stayed in touch after he graduated in 2014.  When Buday returned to…

    German exchange student visits Shoreview | News

    This summer, the Brownlee family of North Oaks welcomed 17-year-old German student Julian Glaser to Shoreview. Glaser decided to spend his summer vacation here in Minnesota, his first visit to the U.S. Julian resides in Lorsch, the neighboring town to Shoreview’s sister city, Einhausen, which lies in the German state of Hessen approximately 62 miles northeast of Frankfurt. The teen enjoyed everyday life in the area and was also able to participate in several adventures during his stay.
