    Oregon Jobs: New forecast shows growth of 317,600 jobs | News

    Oregon’s total employment is projected to grow by 317,600 jobs between 2020 and 2030, according to new projections from the Oregon Employment Department. In 2020, there were 1,998,400 jobs in Oregon. The projected 16% increase in employment between 2020 and 2030 includes private-sector gains of 283,500 jobs, growth of 25,700 jobs in government, and an additional 8,300 self-employed Oregonians.     The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) is sponsoring a teacher-designated event where the author of the controversial “1619 Project” will speak. Scheduled for Friday night, the event is co-sponsored by the ODE and Oregon Alliance of Black School Educators.     Oregon sheds 25,500 jobs, unemployment rises for the first time since April

    Oregon drops 25,500 jobs in December

    SALEM, Ore. — Oregon’s unemployment rose to 6.4{c25493dcd731343503a084f08c3848bd69f9f2f05db01633325a3fd40d9cc7a1} in December, up from 6{c25493dcd731343503a084f08c3848bd69f9f2f05db01633325a3fd40d9cc7a1} in November.
