    Lincoln Board of Education announces finalists for Superintendent

    LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) -The Lincoln Board of Education announced on Tuesday the names of four finalists for the position of superintendent of Lincoln Public Schools. “After reviewing all of the applications, the Board is pleased with the strength of this exceptional pool of candidates,” said Connie Duncan, president of the Lincoln Board of Education. “Each candidate brings a unique perspective and a wealth of experience that will benefit our community.” The Board will interview the finalists on Feb. 1 and Feb. 4.     Regeneron-sponsored prestigious science contest names top student finalists

    Being able to add “Regeneron’s Science Talent Search finalist” to a resume is a good way to get noticed in the STEM field. And 40 students can now do that. Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and the Society for Science recently named the 40 student finalists in this year’s competition, narrowed down from 300 semifinalists. The full field included almost 1,800 high school seniors across the U.S. who submitted original research within the STEM area. The finalists are in good company. Both Regeneron co-founders, CEO Len Schleifer M.D., Ph.D., and Chief Scientific Officer George Yancopoulos, M.D., Ph.D., were participants themselves in 1970 and 1976, respectively with Yancopoulos being a top finalist.     Two Nassau students named finalists in Regeneron science competition

    Two Nassau County high school students were among the 40 chosen as finalists Thursday in the Regeneron Science Talent Search, a prestigious competition that recognizes some of the brightest research minds in the country. Lucy Zha, 17, of The Wheatley School in the East Williston district, was honored for her research on the impact of plant-based chemicals on cancer cells. Justin Shen, 17, of Jericho High School, focused on how amino acid in green tea can reduce toxicity in water pollutants.     Heisman Trophy ceremony 2020: DeVonta Smith leads finalists, live stream, watch online, TV channel

    The cream of the crop will take center stage on Tuesday night as the winner of the Heisman Trophy for the 2020 college football season will be revealed. Four finalists selected from this unique season, two of whom just happen to play for the same team.
