    FORT MYERS, Fla. — Lee County School District is offering parents the opportunity to learn more about the violence prevention program used in their schools. Risk Assessment Coordinator, Rick Parfitt, told Fox 4 that it will be a series of presentations on behavioral threat assessment and management that will be available over the next several months.     NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office has reported a rise in school threats, receiving seven in the last week alone. Two students have been arrested in connection to their online posts, with the threats leading to concern among parents and police. – Advertisement – “It’s not funny.     Police say they don’t have any leads yet on who the driver of the car was.     Vietnamese exchange student dies weeks after being injured in Saginaw County crash

    SAGINAW, MI — Nearly a month after she was involved in a two-car crash in Saginaw County, a Vietnamese exchange student has succumbed to her injuries. On May 22, sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash site at the intersection of North Center and Pierce roads in Kochville Township. They arrived to find a Honda passenger car and a Pontiac Grand Am had collided. The Honda contained four Saginaw Valley State University exchange students from Vietnam. A backseat passenger, 22-year-old Phuong Thi Nam Trinh, suffered life-threatening injuries that required hospitalization. Trinh died at Covenant HealthCare hospital in Saginaw on June 13, deputies confirmed. “It was horrible,” said Sheriff William L. Federspiel.…

    A Bastrop County teenager will soon join the ranks of the select few accepted into a U.S. military academy with future plans to serve the country. Lake Mills, an 18-year old who lives near Paige, will report June 24 to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., fulfilling a dream he’s had since he was 12 years old.
