“Watching students put all of their separate learned skills together into this project has been a great affirmation for our Production Arts program,” said Rae Labadie, Charter Arts’ Artistic Director of Production Arts.
Viewers will also be able to view student-made short films in the virtual gallery.
According to the release, the Production Arts Department focuses on the conceptual, technical, and artistic elements of a production by “working collaboratively to tell a compelling story.” The department prepares students to explore career options in fields such as stage, design and technology as related to production.

Charter Arts, located at 321 East 3rd Street in Bethlehem, is an audition-based public charter school that provides a comprehensive curriculum for high school students, grades 9-12, who have a passion for the arts. Students major in one of seven artistic areas: dance, instrumental music, literary arts, production arts, theatre, visual arts, or vocal music.
A petition for a charter to be granted to build a Charter Arts school in Pocono Mountain School District was recently denied. The proposed school would be lead by Thomas Lubben, who helped found Charter Arts in Bethlehem, which at the time was know as the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts.
The Pocono Charter High School for the Performing and Visual Arts submitted a revised application to the District on Sept. 24, 2020. The PMSD Board held a vote on this revised application at a public Board meeting on Nov. 18, and denied the revised application. It is expected that the proposed school will appeal this decision.
