And spoiler alert – teaching their children themselves while potentially juggling their own livelihoods has proved a mammoth task.
Many mums and dads have developed a new-found appreciation for the heroes leading our region’s classrooms, and rightly so. But during lockdown number three, despite the brilliant remote support they continue to receive from teachers, parents tell us it can still be tough to make a horse drink once it’s been led to water.

Cheryl Bottomley said: “My nearly 14 year old doing live lessons and my just turned 9 yr old working his way through his daily tasks (I could of gotten a better pic but didn’t want the kids to see).”
Sarah Winwood said: “My son Tyler, 7, doing his work, proper easy home schooling as have been doing it for 4 years with my oldest son who is now 15. All you need to do is keep calm.”
